The Dreams Program
Most people have forgotten how to dream, have given up on their dream, or think their dreams will never become a reality. This never happens at Nurse Next Door. At Nurse Next Door, dreams are encouraged, fostered and celebrated. That's why Nurse Next Door launched a dedicated Dreams Program, focused on helping our people dream again. Nurse Next Door is committed to helping make as many dreams come true as possible. Whether that means working with an employee to set their own personal goals or even putting together an all expenses paid dream trip to Prince Edward Island (which we did for our inaugural Dreams Program winner) - we're committed to helping our employees and our clients dream.
How did this program begin? It all started with John DeHart, one of Nurse Next Door's Co-Founders, who dreamed of one day climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Pictured to the right is John proudly unfurling his Nurse Next Door banner as he finally achieved his dream in September of 2009.
Today, the Dreams Program is taking a life of it's own. All employees at HeartQuarters have posted personal dreams they want to achieve. Caregivers across North America are starting to submit their own dreams. Most recently, we awarded an inaugural grand prize winner who dreamed of a trip to Prince Edward Island with her sister in memory of their late mother. Have a look below to see how this innovative new program has helped make a few dreams come true. Remember - never stop dreaming!

Making Dreams Come True: Nurse Next Door caregiver wins dream trip to Prince Edward Island
In the spring of 2002, Lorrell C. and her mother Margaret took a trip they wouldn't soon forget. The two had been dreaming of a trip together for many years and were finally able to take one when they visited beautiful Prince Edward island.
"It really was an amazing experience," said Lorrell, now 53. "We were best friends and for years after mom would always say 'wasn't it great in PEI?' She loved it there."
Lorrell's sister, Dale, was also supposed to come along but unfortunately wasn't able to make the memorable trip. Figuring that Dale could come along on the next trip, Lorrell and her mother took the chance at some much needed R&R on the island. Unfortunately, though, the chance wouldn't come by again.
After their return, Margaret was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Sadly, less than a year after being diagnosed, she passed away. Read more
