Owners: Jen and Jason Kuzie

Jen and Jason Kuzie both bring a wealth of both personal and professional experience to Nurse Next Door. Jen describes herself as a registered nurse who tired of working in a taxed healthcare system and “wanted to find a better way to care for our ever-increasing senior population.” Her husband has a personal connection to caregiving as he “witnessed the relationship of his grandparents shift from a couple who were deeply in love into that of a caregiver and client as his grandfather continues to battle Parkinsonism and Alzheimer’s’ disease. Jason wants to use his education in business to help seniors by running our franchise efficiently.”

With current resources across Edmonton stretched, this local franchise will help to alleviate the burden placed on existing care options by providing the same or greater level of care from the comforts of the client’s home. “Our main focus is on Caregivers. We want to keep them a part of the care but we want to restore their relationships with their loved ones and allow them to be daughters, wives, husbands and sons again. “With Nurse Next Door, we’re really able to help ensure local seniors receive high quality care in their own homes”, says Jen. “We want to take the time to educate families and show them that caring for aging family members can be affordable.”

Nurse Next Door’s Edmonton franchise provides a full spectrum of in-home care services ranging from 3-hour per week companionship to 24-hour nursing care. These services help individuals who have a variety of professional care needs live at-home both happily and healthily.
