Having spent years working as a registered nurse in a hospital setting, Alyshia saw first hand how many seniors ended up in long-term care facilities and understood that preventative care was really part of the solution. With a true passion for care, Alyshia recognized that seniors typically enjoy a greater quality of life in their own homes than in institutional settings.

Ultimately, Alyshia’s years of experience drove her to bring Nurse Next Door to her hometown of Victoria. According to her, it was the organization’s high standards of care, innovation, and forward thinking philosophy that confirmed her decision to ensure Victoria seniors could access the best in-home senior care has to offer.

Alyshia’s goal in Victoria is to become the city’s leading provider of in-home senior care while raising the customer service standards residents can expect. She also hopes to bring the same passion to creating a workplace where local healthcare professionals can make a difference, feel engaged, and enjoy coming to work.

Currently, Alyshia is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Victoria and the chairperson for the Valentine’s Ball and Silent Auction which is raising funds for the Queen Alexandra Foundation. She is also the Director of the Board of Trustees for the Family Caregivers’ Network Society of BC.
