Nurse makes home calls
Anyone with an aging parent or grandparent living on their own knows how worrisome it can be just making sure they're OK from day to day.
Nearly 13 per cent of the Kamloops population is 65 years or older, which means there are many children and grandchildren worrying about aging loved ones.
It also means there are new businesses opening up to deal with those worries.
Among them, Nurse Next Door, a franchise opened recently by Gordie and Tara Simpson. "This franchise allows us to help thousands of Kamloops families that are currently struggling with caregiving issues," said Gordie.
The business offers a range of home health-care services, everything from two-hours-per-week companionship to 24-hour care from a registered nurse.
Nurse Next Door can be reached at 377-0011.
