Nurse Next Door looks for 'LPN-Trepreneurs'

In-home senior care franchisor offering business opportunity.

One of the provinces greatest healthcare challenges is just over the horizon.

Currently 14.5% of the BC population is 65 or older. This figure is expected to grow dramatically over the next 20 years to approximately 25%. One of the biggest challenges facing our residents today is how we are going to care for this rapidly aging population.

Nurse Next Door, BC’s largest in-home senior care provider has been caring for local seniors since 2001 when co-founders John DeHart and Ken Sim launched a company based on personal experience. Now, with a successful business on their hands, the two business leaders are on a journey to bring Nurse Next Door across the country.

The company is currently expanding to even more communities and has opened up an exciting new business opportunity for entrepreneurial LPNs.

“Key to addressing our local senior care challenges over the long-term, really are the entrepreneurial minds currently working in the healthcare space,” says Nurse Next Door co-founder John DeHart. “We are trying to find the brightest LPNs around to build their own Nurse Next Door franchises in communities across the province.”

With 10 locations across BC, Nurse Next Door is looking for the right, passionate people to award up to 10 more BC-based franchises. With major markets still available, including Canada’s most elderly city, Kelowna, Nurse Next Door is hard at work recruiting the right people to build their own businesses.

“We know LPNs can be really successful in our franchise system because they have the passion necessary to grow the business,” says DeHart. “The systems we have in place can help guide these individuals through the unfamiliar terrain of launching a company.”

DeHart says the franchise system includes a week-long in-person training in Vancouver, a 16-week start up manual and on-going business coaching and support to help ensure success. While LPNs may not have a lot of previous business experience, the systems in place can help overcome the challenge.

Nurse Next Door delivers both medical and non medical in-home senior care. Services range from companionship to 24 hour, live-in care.
