Why no takers?

Vancouver-based Nurse Next Door Home Healthcare is baffled that it hasn't had a taker for a franchise in the Okanagan.

"Almost 20 per cent of Kelowna's population is 65-plus (the highest in the country)," said Arif Abdulla of Nurse Next Door.

"That's the prime demographic that uses our service, so we're surprised we haven't been able to find a franchisee."

When Nurse Next Door set up in Vancouver, it thought Kelowna would be its first franchise.

However, since then, franchisees have been found and branches set up in Burnaby, New Westminster, Kamloops, and Abbotsford.
