Caroline Guarino is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 22 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Her clinical background includes 12 years in emergency room settings and 10 years dedicated to elderly care, including leadership experience as Director of Nursing for an Adult Day Care program. This combination of acute-care expertise and long-term senior care leadership has given her a comprehensive understanding of both medical complexity and the day-to-day needs of aging individuals.
Her professional and personal experiences caring for aging loved ones strongly influenced her decision to enter the home care field. Through these experiences, she came to deeply appreciate the physical, emotional, and psychological benefits seniors gain when they are able to age safely and comfortably in their own homes.
Caroline recognizes an urgent need in her community for skilled, qualified, kind, and compassionate home care. She chose to start a Nurse Next Door franchise after witnessing, throughout her career in emergency departments, the clear and consistent differences in health outcomes, dignity, and overall well-being between seniors arriving from nursing facilities and those coming from their own homes or the homes of family members. These firsthand observations reinforced her belief that seniors thrive when supported to age at home, and inspired her to bring this model of care to her community.

When should we consider 24-hour home care?
Use this list to help you decide if continuous monitoring is something you should consider:
- The person doesn’t sleep through the night (or gets up more than 2-3 times per night).
- The person has difficulty moving around and is at a high risk of falls.
- The person was recently (or is about to be) discharged from the hospital and needs constant monitoring.
- The person’s spouse or relative is exhausted from helping day and night.

Nurse Next Door's services vary in price depending on the level of care required and the Nurse Next Door Care team that services your area. To get a better idea of pricing in your area, speak to one of our Care Services Specialists—we're open any time, 24/7.
We also offer a complimentary Caring Consult™, during which one of our care designers will help you determine the amount of care you may require. We'll then work with you to balance your budget and needs and find a home care option for you.
Can I trial Nurse Next Door or do I have to sign a long-term contract?
You are not locked into a long-term contract as a Nurse Next Door client.

Are your home care services only for seniors?
No. We provide home care services to people of all ages. While our specialty is providing Happier Aging® experiences to seniors, we also assist with disability care, post-operative care, and more for children and adults.

Will I have the same Care Team all the time?
At Nurse Next Door, we strive to provide consistent care with regularly assigned caregivers. If your Caregiver isn’t available, we will ensure a suitable replacement that meets your unique needs.
Does Nurse Next Door conduct a background check for Caregivers?
Yes, all Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks, vulnerable sector checks and reference checks. We verify our Caregivers' educational credentials upon hire and ensure, on an annual basis, that every Nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses.
