My background is in restaurant and restaurant management, where I began my career and quickly advanced into higher-level leadership roles. I spent many years in the industry while raising my son as a full-time single mother in Kamloops, building strong people skills and a deep understanding of what it means to serve others.
My transition into healthcare began unexpectedly when I was asked to cover a leave at a local care facility as a receptionist. Though I wasn’t providing hands-on care, I immediately felt connected to the work and the seniors—it was clear to me that this was where my heart belonged. What started as a temporary role quickly turned into a full-time opportunity. From there, I moved into Scheduling, and eventually into Human Resources, where I was fortunate to be mentored by someone who helped me grow and succeed in the role, despite not having formal HR training.
While working at the facility, I met Dayna Frame through her Kamloops Nurse Next Door franchise, which was contracting nurses for our scheduling. I began to learn more about the Nurse Next Door brand, and as I researched, I found that their core values deeply aligned with my own beliefs about how healthcare should be delivered—with heart, respect, and a true focus on people.
I spent five years working with Dayna, first as her People Experience Coordinator and then as a Manager and . That experience solidified for me that this was not just a job—it was a calling. When the opportunity arose to co-purchase the Penticton Nurse Next Door franchise alongside Dayna, I jumped at the chance. My husband and I relocated our family to Summerland, and I am now fully committed to helping grow this wonderful business and bring to life the vision that Dayna and I share for compassionate, client-focused home care. Even after the move, I continue to serve as General Manager for Daynas Kamloops, Victoria and Prince George locations, while also co-owning and operating the Penticton franchise.
I truly believe that seniors deserve the opportunity to remain in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible. Yes, all Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks, vulnerable sector checks and reference checks. We verify our Caregivers' educational credentials upon hire and ensure, on an annual basis, that every Nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses.
