Lisa has 20 years of experience as a nurse, specializing in hospice and home health and graduated from Walla Walla University in 2005. I love home care, it's fun to see people's homes, meet their pets, see their pictures, and hear their stories. I am sensitive to the safety risks, loneliness and depression that can go with aging and loss of functioning. Being the reassuring voice on the phone for support or making a complex situation doable have been the best parts of my job. This is why I love that Nurse Next Door makes happiness a priority. ADL's and meds are just a task - bringing smiles, joy, and purpose are what supports a whole person at all stages of life. Lisa loves spending time with her family - husband and three kids - and golden retriever Rocco who is very much part of the Nurse Next Door West Portland team! He offers free hugs to everyone!
Katie became a certified medical assistant from Apollo College in 1999. From there worked in Family practice and Urgent care from 1999-2016. From there she discovered her love for whole-person care through caregiving. When she was called to care for a neighbor. She is driven by helping make people's end journey easier by letting the family be the family and ensuring no one has to die alone. Katie loves spending time with her husband, three kids and her husky dog Nova. Fun fact, she met her husband on a blind date.

What if I need to speak to someone after business hours?
Our Care Services Center is open 24/7. Call anytime, and one of our Care Services Specialists will be happy to assist you.
When should we consider 24-hour home care?
Use this list to help you decide if continuous monitoring is something you should consider:
- The person doesn’t sleep through the night (or gets up more than 2-3 times per night).
- The person has difficulty moving around and is at a high risk of falls.
- The person was recently (or is about to be) discharged from the hospital and needs constant monitoring.
- The person’s spouse or relative is exhausted from helping day and night.

How much does Nurse Next Door cost?
Nurse Next Door's services vary in price depending on the level of care required and the Nurse Next Door Care team that services your area. To get a better idea of pricing in your area, speak to one of our Care Services Specialists—we're open any time, 24/7.
We also offer a complimentary Caring Consult™, during which one of our care designers will help you determine the amount of care you may require. We'll then work with you to balance your budget and needs and find a home care option for you.
Can I trial Nurse Next Door or do I have to sign a long-term contract?
You are not locked into a long-term contract as a Nurse Next Door client.

Are your home care services only for seniors?
No. We provide home care services to people of all ages. While our specialty is providing Happier Aging® experiences to seniors, we also assist with disability care, post-operative care, and more for children and adults.

Will I have the same Care Team all the time?
At Nurse Next Door, we strive to provide consistent care with regularly assigned caregivers. If your Caregiver isn’t available, we will ensure a suitable replacement that meets your unique needs.
Does Nurse Next Door conduct a background check for Caregivers?
Yes, all Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks, vulnerable sector checks and reference checks. We verify our Caregivers' educational credentials upon hire and ensure, on an annual basis, that every Nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses.
