Boise and the greater Treasure Valley is growing at an alarmingly high rate. Many of the people that are moving to the Treasure Valley are retirees with a majority coming from California. They are coming to stretch their retirement dollars and enjoy what Idaho has to offer, which is a great community with expansive outdoor adventures, college sports, a bustling capital city, a growing foodie scene, and so much more.
Owners Jenny and Coleman McNear come from a background of caring for others and they identified that there is a huge need in the community to assist the aging population and their families so they can continue to be active and spend their twilight years in their own homes surrounded by all their memories and people they love.
Since the completion of their degrees, in Theater Arts, Coleman has been on a mission to help the vulnerable populations of the communities they lived in. She has worked as a behavioral specialist working one-on-one with elementary-aged youth, an in-home caregiver for a young developmentally delayed man, as a floor staff and schedule coordinator for an assisted living facility, program coordinator and case manager for a homeless youth housing program, and a case manager for adults needing assistance with finding government assisted services. She also managed to squeeze in a second degree in Communications!
Jenny’s background is more business related; she has helped with her family’s business in an administrative capacity, along with working as an administrative assistant for other companies, serving at restaurants, and working in the film industry. We believe Coleman’s background and passion will lend well to Care Designing and that Jenny’s background will help with the bookkeeping end of the business, together forming a solid team to bring Nurse Next Door to Boise, Idaho and to be a huge success for the community.
Bringing Happier Aging To The Community
Jenny and Coleman said, “When deciding what direction we wanted our lives to go we knew we wanted to be helping the people of our community. The drive to help people is what keeps us going and motivated to being the best we can!” That’s why they’re proud to bring Nurse Next Door’s philosophy of Happier Aging to their community!
The couple hopes to assist clients in finding the little daily joys and making them a part of our service to you, such as reading to you because your eyesight has gone, finally clearing off that table and doing a puzzle together, bringing the garden inside with a tabletop garden of herbs because you are now wheelchair bound. They also hope to assist with bigger dreams their clients might have left on their bucket list and will do their best to help fulfill those dreams.
Nurse Next Door resonated with Jenny and Coleman because of its focus on clients to live their lives to the fullest of their ability with Happier Aging as its goal. Caregivers are trained to identify the gems and happiness triggers with clients as care is believed to go beyond tasks.
