Sukhbir Mattu and Harjas Parhar, owners of Nurse Next Door White Rock and Surrey, are dedicated to helping seniors age comfortably and confidently at home. Guided by the philosophy of Happier Aging, they focus on more than day-to-day tasks—prioritizing joy, independence, and meaningful moments. Their compassionate team provides a wide range of services, including dementia care, personal care, companionship, homemaking, respite, and transportation/accompaniment, all designed to uplift seniors and support families.
Before becoming franchise owners, both were naturally drawn to senior care and community service. Harjas, a physiotherapist, saw how much seniors value staying in their own homes while maintaining independence and dignity. Sukhbir’s background in operations, sales, and customer service showed him the impact of reliable, relationship-based care, especially for aging loved ones. Together, they joined Nurse Next Door to blend professional expertise with genuine human connection.

What if I need to speak to someone after business hours?
Our Care Services Center is open 24/7. Call anytime, and one of our Care Services Specialists will be happy to assist you.
When should we consider 24-hour home care?
Use this list to help you decide if continuous monitoring is something you should consider:
- The person doesn’t sleep through the night (or gets up more than 2-3 times per night).
- The person has difficulty moving around and is at a high risk of falls.
- The person was recently (or is about to be) discharged from the hospital and needs constant monitoring.
- The person’s spouse or relative is exhausted from helping day and night.

How much does Nurse Next Door cost?
Nurse Next Door's services vary in price depending on the level of care required and the Nurse Next Door Care team that services your area. To get a better idea of pricing in your area, speak to one of our Care Services Specialists—we're open any time, 24/7.
We also offer a complimentary Caring Consult™, during which one of our care designers will help you determine the amount of care you may require. We'll then work with you to balance your budget and needs and find a home care option for you.
Can I trial Nurse Next Door or do I have to sign a long-term contract?
You are not locked into a long-term contract as a Nurse Next Door client.

Are your home care services only for seniors?
No. We provide home care services to people of all ages. While our specialty is providing Happier Aging® experiences to seniors, we also assist with disability care, post-operative care, and more for children and adults.

Will I have the same Care Team all the time?
At Nurse Next Door, we strive to provide consistent care with regularly assigned caregivers. If your Caregiver isn’t available, we will ensure a suitable replacement that meets your unique needs.
Does Nurse Next Door conduct a background check for Caregivers?
Yes, all Nurse Next Door Caregivers are carefully screened with criminal background checks, vulnerable sector checks and reference checks. We verify our Caregivers' educational credentials upon hire and ensure, on an annual basis, that every Nurse is registered and in good standing with their respective College of Nurses.
