As the Communications and PR Specialist, you are responsible for communication channels at Nurse Next Door to facilitate cross-team success and streamline processes, in addition to securing public relations opportunities through award applications, pitches and storytelling.Your focus will be on the delivery of all business operational communications and establishing Nurse Next Door as a thought leader. You will work collaboratively with the Nurse Next Door Operations team and embody our four core values: Admire People, Find a Better Way, WOW Customer Experience, and Passionate About Making a Difference.
Responsibilities
  • Work with all levels of the Operations Team including senior management to support communications
  • Oversee the quality of all content and communications produced operations-wide
  • Author and deliver all business operational communications and ensure a strong and consistent brand, further enhancing Franchise Partner relationships
  • Unify Nurse Next Door throughout all communication channels and across teams: Provide language, materials, and guidance to ensure that the Nurse Next Door brand is clearly and effectively represented by all teams and departments
  • Internal communications:
  • Keep all departments and teams aligned by effectively communicating system-wide updates and organizational news within the organization and at HeartQuarters office
  • Set up all teams for success by supporting the Project Coordinator and Operations Team in relaying clear and documented information
  • Support with documentation of internal processes
  • Respond to and moderate our internal Franchise Partner community forum
  • Be the primary point of contact for internal processes (e.g. updates to our Operations Manual and company intranet)
  • Celebrate Nurse Next Door’s accolades through public relations
  • Act as Nurse Next Door’s main media contact, respond to general inquiries, and coordinate 3rd party partnerships
  • Research, identify and apply for opportunities in awards, press releases, features, publishing, and sponsorships, etc.
  • Enhance and maintain the brand story and services with the Content Specialist.
  • Reputation management
  • Monitor and respond to negative public commentary (feedback from consumers about radio ads or negative business reviews etc.)
  • Provide guidance for Franchise Partners to mitigate any negative press in their local communities
  • Help in regular auditing for brand compliance through print and web content and channels
Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years of North American marketing and public relations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in communications, public relations, marketing, business, or a related field
  • Technology proficiency for Windows or OS X systems
  • Ability to identify and pursue strategic PR opportunities
  • Strong communication skills in spoken and written English
  • Past experience and understanding of public relations, media management, and copywriting
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams, effectively managing multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines
  • Assets: Experience in traditional and digital marketing or franchise industries
